How We Do Staining Differently
We begin with thorough surface preparation using sodium metasilicate and/or sodium hydroxide as needed to clean the surface, providing a clean slate to work with. Next, we neutralize the wood with oxalic acid, which opens up the wood’s cellular structure, allowing for maximum stain penetration.
This multi-step preparation process allows the oil-based stain we use to completely soak into the wood’s fibers, creating a rich, even color that is resistant to fading and peeling. Unlike water-based alternatives, our stains are weather-resistant from day one, and our integrated approach to staining includes sealing as part of the application, not an afterthought. This means better protection and longer-lasting results in a single, comprehensive treatment.
